A promotional video for Blackford County which consists of Hartford City, Montpelier, Shamrock Lakes and part of Dunkirk, Indiana. This was in concordance with a grant from IOTD (Indiana Office of Tourism Development) and is aimed at highlighting the current residents of Blackford County and also showcase the events and possibilities that Blackford County has to offer. I co-wrote, directed, shot a majority of the footage, and edited this piece. We shot on a mix of Lumix, Blackmagic, and iPhone cameras, and DJI drones. All post production was done in the Adobe CC suite - using Premiere, After Effects, Audition, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
This is a welcome/kickoff video for a Leadership Fundamentals eLearning program. The client wanted a warm, inspiring tone that speaks directly to employees about everyday leadership — not as a title, but as a choice in the small moments.
I handled the full production: writing support on the script, narration, and editing the piece together with a mix of cinematic B-roll and clean motion graphics. The real challenge and fun was blending the live-action footage, animations, and informational graphics so the video felt motivational without being boring or overwhelming.
This one was fun as I was also able to be the audio engineer for the vocal recording as well as the editor for this mini-doc. One of the hurdles was getting interviews with all of the necessary parties with such restricted regional access. We solved this by screen recording through Discord and having them lean their cell phones against something for a B cam and just telling them "make sure you're in frame". That of course gave some challenges with varying frame rates and resolutions. But I feel this actually added to the piece. Piecing the story together from 5 different hour+ interviews was fun and reminded me of the ole ENG days crafting magazine style videos.
Here is a Video I Narrated and Edited for GP Strategies. I had about 2 hours from receiving script till shooting. Due to the short prep time I chose to shoot in the Atrium. It was a wide open space with lots of windows and natural light. For a last minute shoot with a crew of just me this was ideal. I grabbed a shoulder rig, a tripod, and my ever ready camera bag. Drew up a quick shot sheet and grabbed the few supplies noted in the script and we were off to the races.
The real fun was in the post production - recreating the menu screen in Photoshop to allow us to navigate however we wanted was great. We did have some demo footage recorded for us from the tech department but it was all standard def in a 1:1 aspect ratio. I took screen grabs and re-created the entire menu in Photoshop and animated everything in after effects.
I produced this pitch video for Adam Glass, the founder of Lost Age Games and creator of Life & Legend. The goal was to keep things simple, sincere, and focused on Adam’s story and the heart of the game.
We shot outdoors in a quiet, wooded area with soft natural light filtering through the trees. It gave the video a calm, thoughtful feel that matches the introspective nature of the game. With just my camera, a tripod, and a shoulder rig, we captured Adam speaking directly to the camera, along with plenty of close-up gameplay footage — hands drawing cards, dice rolling, and detailed shots of the components. The pacing is gentle and unhurried, letting the concepts breathe just like the game itself.
The no-budget Christian indie film I wrote with my wife and made with our friends and Church small group. We raised $3,000 dollars via Indiegogo and used it to buy a couple lenses and a rails for my GH2's, a boom mic kit, a slider, and some makeup. All other expenses came out of pocket as we shot.
If you like the Coen Brothers, Alexander Payne, and Wes Anderson but are also a believer in Jesus as messiah and want to see a Christian film in that vein but with no big name actors and no budget? This is the film for you!
